Shoot The Rapids Still A No Show + Fun in the Sun

Visited Cedar Point yesterday to a still inoperable Shoot The Rapids. I was kind of starting to figure that Cedar Point’s new family attraction wasn’t going to be open for another weekend, and I was right. I really hope they can finish what still has yet to be done so I can ride the thing and post a review on it.

On another note, I got to ride Maverick in the front row and was quite impressed. That ride is so smooth and incredible, it is just a rush like no other.

Next we rode Mean Streak in the front row and I must say it was quite fun. Haven’t rode it in a while so I thought I’d give it a go. The area it is located in is quite desolate, I am wondering if Cedar Point has any plans to revamp the area in the future.

The third and final ride of the day was Top Thrill Dragster. Haven’t rode this one since last year (final ride of last season), so I was quite excited to get on this one again. Dragster still doesn’t disappoint and still in my opinion gives the single biggest rush in all of Cedar Point. I give Dragster 2 thumbs up, even though some say it is too short, I say it is just right.

Cedar Point’s Shoot The Rapids a Bust?

So, I visited Cedar Point opening weekend and–of course–their new attraction, Shoot The Rapids, was still inoperable (until May 29, 2010, or so they say). Walking by it, the theme of the ride fits in quite well with the surrounding area and it should cater pretty nicely to families.

However, I’m personally not too excited about this attraction, and honestly never was. I suppose Cedar Point can’t always build intense thrill rides, so here’s to hoping this attraction paves the way for a great thrill ride in the future.

Cowabunga Bay Preview of What’s to Come

I recommend anyone into water parks to check out Cowabunga Bay. Lance over at Screamscape did a nice little writeup on this unique little water park coming in 2009 to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Medusa Redesign Update, December 2

Found out about the latest update from our friends at Coasterdom.com.

Seems that the Medusa Redesign over at Six Flags Great Adventure is well underway. The coaster’s track looks to be completely repainted to it’s new blue color. The last time I was at this park was in 2003 and even then the original paint job was very much, very faded. I’d have to say I do like the new color for the track and can’t wait to see this progress through the Winter and Spring.

New Logo

First things first, I have updated the site with the new ThrillZing logo! I have also changed the main colors from black and white to a dark blue and gold to really make the site pop. When I get more time I think I am going to add a roller coaster somewhere in the background of the header to make the header look more tailored to this site’s main topic.

Welcome to the New ThrillZing

After a few years of dormancy, I am ready to bring back ThrillZing! I found out that the problem was that I was expecting to do way too much. I wanted ThrillZing to be a full-fledged, top class, amusement park, roller coaster and thrill ride site to compete with other similar sites.

However, I realized that expectation was way too large considering how busy my schedule was and still is. Therefore I have decided to start out small, with just a blog and an About page. I will just let it grow slowly and steadily and then maybe one day it will turn into something really unique and cool.
